JANICE LAMB

Hi! Just a few lines to let you know where I am coming from and how i got here.

I have always been creating something or other and for many years. I worked with clay, first as a sculptor and then as a production potter. I exhibited often and had my work photographed for magazines. Unfortunately I was unable to continue due to health reasons so I needed something else to do.

In 2007 I was fortunate to be able to travel to Europe and the Mediterranean for six months and I sketched the whole way. By the time I arrived home I had decided I needed colour and so I decided to paint.

I enrolled in the Brisbane Institute of Art and began level I in acrylic painting. I then completed all four levels which has taken me 2 years. During this time I participated in all of the exhibitions and thoroughly enjoyed myself.

I paint for the sheer enjoyment of painting and if I sell one of my works I am delighted to think someone else (besides me) likes my work.

I love lots of paint and lots of bright colours, I don't have a particular style I just paint.

One of my favourite artists is Claude Monet, I love his colours and the moods he can project onto the canvas.
